# Changelog

This page tracks user-facing changes across the platform API, the
dashboard, and the `shebang-mcp` package.

## Unreleased

sherpage pages can now be blogs written in the dashboard — Markdown
posts, a logo, a links page, a plain reader-mode look — see
[blogs](/sherpage/blogs). A page's entrypoint is now served at
`p.shebang.pro/<public-id>/` (the bare address redirects), so a bundle's
relative links and stylesheets resolve correctly.

New accounts now activate with an invited phone number (protected by
Cloudflare Turnstile) before minting API keys or using the platform —
existing accounts were activated automatically and need to do nothing.

The first stable release of the shebang platform.

### New

- **Identity.** Sign in with email and password, Google, or GitHub, with
  optional two-factor authentication (TOTP). Every account gets a unique
  handle.
- **Databases.** Create a Postgres database in seconds, get connection
  strings once, and turn on a REST data API for it — compatible with
  `supabase-js`, with publishable and secret keys and row-level security.
- **Page and file hosting.** Publish an HTML page or upload a file through
  the MCP tools or the HTTP API, then manage access (public, password,
  private, or an allow-list) from the dashboard.
- **Short links.** Every page and file gets a short link, and short links
  are now the one place access, passwords, expiry, and view limits are
  set.
- **A platform API and hosted MCP server.** Every service is reachable
  through one API host, authenticated by an API key or by signing in with
  your account (OAuth). An MCP server is hosted for you — no local
  installation required to connect an agent.
- **shebang-mcp 1.0.0 published to npm.**
- **Projects.** Keys and the resources they create are grouped into
  projects, with read or full access grantable to other projects.
- **Sending email.** A rate-limited tool for sending email on your
  account's behalf, with a footer identifying the sender.
- **These developer docs**, including a getting-started guide, a full API
  and MCP tools reference, and machine-readable versions
  (`llms.txt`/`llms-full.txt`) for coding agents.

### Breaking changes

- Every key and resource now belongs to a project. If you built against an
  earlier preview, the "app" concept you may have used is now called a
  project, and any URL referencing an app now uses the project's slug
  instead.
- Sign-in for CLIs and agents now uses the standard OAuth device-code
  flow. If you built against an earlier preview's sign-in endpoints,
  switch to the device-code flow described in the getting-started guide.
- Page and file links changed from a `/@handle/slug`-style URL to a short
  random id (for example, `p.shebang.pro/7mhoxirbuyyv`). Existing
  `@handle/slug` links still redirect automatically, but that redirect
  will be removed in a future release — update any saved links.
- `docs` is now a reserved project slug.
